Pelvic Restoration – Post Surgery

The pre- and post-operative blueprint for urinary incontinence. Surgery repairs the structure — this program rebuilds the strength that holds it, with urologist oversight from the Barrie Urology Group.

2 sessions

Pre-surgery preparation

8 weeks

Post-surgery base protocol

28 min

Per B-Pulse session

Fully clothed

No probes, no needles, no downtime

Different to wellness-only clinics.

Core to Floor is a urologist-founded clinic operating inside Barrie Urology Clinic. Every protocol is shaped, reviewed, and supervised by the Barrie Urology Group, so your care is led by medical specialists from the first phone call.

Where This Fits

Surgery repairs the structure. Now we rebuild the strength.

These procedures correct your internal anatomy beautifully. But years of stress and gravity — plus the surgery itself — leave the deep pelvic floor muscles weak. Full continence asks for targeted rehabilitation of those muscles.

Slings & repairs

Retropubic and transobturator slings, anterior repairs.

Prolapse surgery

Cystocele and pelvic organ prolapse corrections.

Hysterectomy

Uterus removal, which changes the surrounding pelvic support.

Structure & Function

Why surgery alone isn't always enough

The Structure

The surgery

What it does: lifts, supports and sutures anatomical defects.

What it can’t do: generate muscle tone or neuromuscular control.

The Function

Pelvic restoration

What it does: activates, thickens and re-educates the levator ani and sphincter muscles.

What it can’t do: fix torn ligaments — which is why you had surgery.

Symptom To Source

Understanding what's actually happening

Our focus

Stress incontinence

What it feels like: Leakage triggered by laughing, sneezing, lifting or exercise.

What’s behind it: Mechanical weakness of the pelvic floor ‘shelf’, which fails to support the urethra under sudden abdominal pressure.

Urge incontinence

What it feels like: A sudden, overwhelming need to go, often with little warning.

What’s behind it: Nerve signalling changes or an overactive bladder.

Mixed incontinence

What it feels like: A combination of activity-triggered leaks and sudden urgency.

What’s behind it: Muscle weakness alongside bladder or nerve hyperactivity.

True pelvic health asks for both: a structurally sound framework, supported by a well-toned muscular hammock.

How It Works

Effortless, non-invasive rehabilitation

You sit in the B-Pulse chair fully clothed while focused electromagnetic energy does the contracting for you.

Why It Matters After Surgery

PEMF doesn’t only contract muscle. It also increases cellular permeability, localised blood flow and tissue oxygenation — all helpful conditions for post-surgical tissue healing.

Source: Elhosary EA, Fergany LA, Mohamed MA. Impact of pulsed electromagnetic field on mixed incontinence in parous women: a prospective randomized study. Clin Exp Obstet Gynecol. 2022;49(4):91. Read the study. Results describe this randomised trial (40 women, mixed incontinence) and are not a promise of individual outcomes.

These are published trial results, not a promise of individual outcomes. We’ll talk honestly with you about what to expect.

The Blueprint

Your pre- and post-op protocol

Two phases, either side of your surgery date.

Phase 1 · Before Surgery

Pre-surgery prep

Goal: prime the neuromuscular pathways and improve pelvic blood flow before surgical trauma.

Phase 2 · After Surgery

Post-surgery restoration

Goal: rebuild deep muscle tone, support surgical healing, and hold onto long-term continence.
Timing always follows your own surgeon’s clearance. Treatment isn’t suitable during pregnancy, or with pacemakers, metal or electronic implants — we review your history with you first.

Beyond Leakage

Comprehensive pelvic wellness

Enhanced healing

Increased vascularity brings oxygen and nutrients toward surgical suture sites.

Core stability

Stabilising the lumbar and pelvic region can reduce lower back pain.

Sexual function

Improved blood flow and muscle tone are commonly reported alongside better comfort and sensation.

Prolapse prevention

A stronger, thicker muscular floor helps resist future descent of pelvic organs.

Protect Your Surgical Investment

Say yes again

Say yes to laughing without fear.
Say yes to exercising with confidence.
Say yes to uninterrupted, restful sleep.

“You went through surgery to get your life back. Let us help you finish the journey.”
